With 14.5 km of mapped galleries, Cueva Huerta is one of the largest karst caves in Asturias. In 2002, it was declared a natural monument and included in the network of protected natural areas of the Principality of Asturias. Access is exclusively possible as part of a guided tour; approximately 300 m of the cave can be explored via wooden walkways and stairs.
The recreational area near Cueva Huerta has a viewpoint, parking spaces, barbecue areas, tables and benches. It is located close to the cave and at a possible starting or finishing point of the Senda del Oso.
The Cascada del Xiblu consists of three waterfalls arranged one above the other, with a total height of approximately 100 m. The route there is signposted as PR AS 269 “Hayedo de Monte Grande y Cascada del Xiblu”. An accessible hiking trail also leads through the Hayedo de Montegrande and ends at the Cascada del Xiblu.
Trails
The circular Ruta del Puerto de Marabio, signposted as PR-AS 72, is an easy hike lasting slightly more than three hours. The Senda del Oso follows the former route of the 19th-century mining railway and passes through small tunnels.

The Colegiata de San Pedro was built between 1069 and 1076. Its architecture combines Asturian pre-Romanesque elements with the early Romanesque style. The collegiate church’s sacristy museum preserves the mummified remains of the Marqués de Valdecarzana and his son Pedro de Miranda.
The Parque de la Prehistoria de Teverga, a museum presenting significant examples of European cave art, is located in the vicinity of Teverga. The park also has five animal enclosures housing six different animal species.
The Abrigos de Fresnedo are considered the most complex schematic rock art site in Asturias and the richest in terms of depictions. The route to the Abrigos de Fresnedo, signposted as PR AS-158, presents certain difficulties due to differences in elevation and technical requirements; the Abrigos de Fresnedo are freely accessible.
The Camín Real de la Mesa was a Roman road from the 1st century BC and a northern branch of the Vía de la Plata.
