Sevares is the starting point of a route that leads via Caserío de la Sierra and Peña de Priede to Priede, then returns to Sevares via Caserío de la Sierra. The highest point of the route is Peña Priede, at approximately 640 metres above sea level. History

The former convent of San Pedro de Sevares has not survived; its donation to the Church of Oviedo by Elo Gutiérrez is documented for the year 1090.

Los Caimanes de Sevares was one of three canoeing teams founded in Piloña in the 1970s. The Los Caimanes de Sevares team was formed with municipal support to revive canoeing on the local river.

Festivals

Every September, patron saint celebrations in honour of Nuestra Señora de Corriello take place in Caldevilla and Villar de Güergu. The celebrations of Nuestra Señora de Corriello include cycling ascents, picnics and verbenas.

The Fiestas de San Pedro in Sevares are celebrated on the weekend around 29 June, the feast day of Saint Peter.

Getting there
