Nature, trails and insights into the forest landscape give Oballo a clearly defined travel profile. The Centro de Interpretación de Muniellos is located in Oubachu.

Nature and Forest

The Centro de Interpretación de Muniellos is located on a promontory of Pico de Las Vachinas at an altitude of 850 metres, in a former quarry that has been ecologically restored, between Oballo and Moal and outside the Reserva Natural Integral de Muniellos. An interactive exhibition with six computer stations, a rotating platform with replicas of forest elements and an audio system helps visitors identify the forest’s most important elements. The Centro de Interpretación de Muniellos showcases typical buildings from the surrounding area as an expression of the relationship between people and their environment. The characteristic fauna of the Reserva Natural Integral de Muniellos includes the brown bear and the Cantabrian capercaillie.

When making your own plans, the visit to the building, trails through the surrounding area and viewpoints can be considered as separate focuses.
