Arriondas – Sella, Festivals and Trails

Arriondas reveals its special side where the Sella becomes the setting for festivals and active experiences. The Fiesta de las Piraguas, also known as Descenso Internacional del Sella or Les piragües, is an internationally recognised festival of tourist interest. The race starts in Arriondas/Les Arriondes and covers 20 kilometres to Ribadesella/Ribeseya.

Nature

Arriondas lies in a broad valley surrounded by mountains, where the Sella and Piloña rivers meet. Arriondas's natural heritage includes numerous streams and impressive scenic gorges.

The Fiesta del Bollu, also known as La Peruyal, is celebrated in Arriondas/Les Arriondes, the capital of the municipality of Parres. It combines a traditional Asturian romería with Bollu preñao, cider and a parade with floats; its centre is the historic La Peruyal quarter.

At Finca La Dehesa on the Sella, the facilities of Cangas Aventura include private parking, changing rooms, a picnic area and rest areas. Cangas Aventura at Finca La Dehesa in Arriondas/Les Arriondes offers individuals and groups a range of adventure activities, including quad and buggy tours.

The Puente Emilio Llamedo in Arriondas/Les Arriondes has wider carriageways and pavements, as well as a cantilevered viewing platform with a glass floor over the Sella.

In Santianes del Terrón, there is a motorhome parking area operated by Arriondas, about 1 kilometre from the town centre, with around 50 spaces.
