Bono: Estrada Castle, hiking trails and holiday apartments
Only the remains of a severely damaged and reduced-height tower, along with parts of the surrounding wall, survive from Estrada Castle in Bono. Bono is a small settlement on the N-230.
Culture and history
In Aragón, Estrada Castle in Bono belongs to the group of castles classified as Bienes de Interés Cultural (Assets of Cultural Interest). Its tower may date from the 17th or 18th century. The Ermita de la Virgen de las Nieves stands beside the road in Bono.
Those interested in historic sites can consider the visible remains, the classification as a Bien de Interés Cultural, and the possible dating as different perspectives. This allows the historical aspects to be given separate weight when planning a trip, just like the architectural form, state of preservation and chronological classification.
Landscape
Bono lies near the Noguera Ribagorzana River. The Barranco de Bono is designated as a fluvial attraction.
For your own planning, you can distinguish between the different landscape aspects: the river connection stands alongside a specifically designated point in the terrain. Together with the cultural sites, this creates a clear selection of different focuses without merging them into a single experience.
Nature and outdoor activities
Behind Bono, a hiking trail leads through the Barranco de Bono and upstream through meadows along its left bank; access from the village takes five minutes. The PR-HU 104 runs from Ginaste via Viñals and Estet to Bono. The panorama of the Bono thrust fault can be seen from the mountain road between Noales, Escané, Montanuy and Vilaller.
For your planning, you can consider the trail information separately according to the criteria of duration, landscape theme and route. These criteria provide different points of comparison. Which of them you give greater weight to can be connected with the desired balance of culture, landscape and hiking, without mixing the individual perspectives. The criteria help you read the various details in an order that suits you and avoid prematurely equating them.
For a holiday apartment in Bono, you can compare travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions on the accommodation pages. Which details take priority in your trip planning depends on your own plans and on the desired balance of culture, landscape and hiking.

Church architecture
Sant Pere de Bono is a parish church outside Bono's built-up centre, directly on the N-230 between El Pont de Suert and Vielha. The building has a single nave and a barrel vault with a semicircular profile, reinforced by two transverse arches that are also round-arched.
The original construction phase of Sant Pere de Bono does not appear to predate the simplest forms of 12th-century architecture.
