Barbenuta between Erata, village culture and viticulture

Culture

The parish church of San Martín de Barbenuta is of Romanesque origin and was extensively rebuilt in the 16th century. An old Chrismon has been preserved above its entrance atrium.

Barbenuta preserves traditional features of a mountain village, including threshing floors, fountains and springs, while chimneys and bordas are also among the traditional architectural elements, complemented by portals, windows and coats of arms.

Routes

The R27 Erata mountain bike route connects Oros Alto, Barbenuta and Espierre and then continues for 11 kilometres along an unpaved track to the summit of Erata.

Route 27 Erata is classified as very difficult and covers 33.3 kilometres, 1,250 metres of elevation gain and a duration of 4 hours and 30 minutes. Wine

At Bodegas Bal Minuta, a regular cellar visit includes a video presentation about the history and project, a guided tour of the cellar and a tasting of two wines with local artisanal aperitifs.
