Los Rosales combines industrial heritage, religious traditions and paths through a landscape shaped by the Guadalquivir. Between the railway station, parish church, processions and nature trails, the town reveals a variety of cultural and landscape facets. Against this backdrop, a holiday apartment in Los Rosales can also be associated with many different impressions of the town.

Culture and History

The Azucarera San Fernando y Destilería Los Rosales is classified as industrial heritage. Another historical reference point is the railway station: in July 1914, the Compañía de Ferrocarriles de Madrid a Zaragoza y a Alicante (MZA) decided in Madrid to change the name of the original station on the Seville–Córdoba line to »Los Rosales«. Thus, industrial history and railway history stand side by side in the townscape.

Getting There

Los Rosales railway station is served by Renfe's commercial C3 and C1 lines. From Seville Santa Justa, Los Rosales station can be reached via the C1 Cercanías line. These two details describe the town's existing rail connections without presupposing any other means of transport.

Church and Religious Traditions

Construction of the Parroquia Nuestra Señora de Fátima began in 1960. The parish church has contemporary architecture, a single-nave building and a simple altarpiece. Inside, it houses images of Our Lady of Fátima, the Santísimo Cristo de la Expiración and Our Lady del Patrocinio. The latter two images are carried in procession on Good Friday. The traditional Good Friday procession begins on 3 April at 9 p.m. at Plaza Pío XII, passes through various streets of the town and returns there at around 1:30 a.m. Día de Nuestra Señora de Fátima on 13 May is a local festival; the Romería de la Virgen de Fátima takes place on the first Sunday in May.

Nature and Trails

A paved footpath connects Los Rosales and Tocina; the route can be covered on foot in approximately 20 minutes. In the northern part of the Tocina-Los Rosales municipal area, the Área Natural de La Playita offers picnic areas and numerous paths in a landscape shaped by the Guadalquivir. The Tocina-Los Rosales area also has various nature trails that can be explored on foot, horseback or by bicycle. Thus, alongside the religious and historical sites, paths and landscapes are also central features.

Before booking, it is worth looking at the exact location, type of accommodation and stated occupancy. The included services, individual price components and the booking and cancellation conditions can likewise be checked directly on the relevant listing page.
