Polopos: Whitewashed Houses, History and Coastal Destinations

Polopos preserves whitewashed houses and an Alpujarran architectural typology that has undergone very few changes. The village lies approximately 800 metres above sea level and features a layout of narrow, steep streets and irregular blocks of houses. The village character thus combines the whitewashed façades, the elevated location and the distinctive street structure to create a unique impression.
