At its eastern end, the Vereda de Chirlata reaches the centre of Los Balcones. There, it connects with the Vereda de los Balcones and the Vereda de Chirlata in the municipality of Gor. Los Balcones was included among the towns connected as part of the GR Geopark of Granada. The GR Geopark of Granada was planned as a 346-kilometre circular route for hiking and mountain biking. The residents restored the church building of the Iglesia de Los Balcones through their contributions in order to preserve part of the local identity of Los Balcones. The restored Iglesia de Los Balcones was inaugurated during the patron-saint celebrations in honour of the Virgen de la Milagrosa.

The Fiestas de los Balcones in honour of the Virgen de la Milagrosa are scheduled for 16 August.
