Culture

On a hill in the old part of Hruševje stands St. Daniel's Church, which is visible from afar. The branch church in Hruševje is dedicated to Saint Daniel. It is first mentioned around 1665, but it certainly stood there earlier. Its bell tower dates from 1793. The church therefore displays different dates on individual structural elements: the portal bears the years 1888 and 1633, with 1633 indicating the date when the portal was built.

The access is also clearly structured. A stone wall surrounds the church, and stone steps lead beneath the bell tower, which is open as an entrance hall. There are three stone entrances there. Hruševje is also home to the fortified settlement of Nad Stenami, situated on a hill 100 m above the valley. Based on surface finds, it is dated to prehistoric times. The church and settlement thus represent two references to periods reaching back different lengths of time within the village.

Nature

Next to St. Daniel's Church in Hruševje, a linden tree is designated as a local natural feature; it is considered an old linden tree of considerable size. The village pond of Hruševje is also designated as a local natural feature. Both references are expressly associated with Hruševje, with the linden tree being particularly closely integrated into the village landscape due to its location next to the church and its officially designated description.

Cycling

The Grajska cycling route passes through Hruševje as part of its circular course. The route is a challenging 54 km circular cycling route with route marker number 3 and a total elevation gain of 1,300 m. The route length, marking and elevation profile are therefore clearly specified. On the way to Dilce, a motorway underpass follows the section through Hruševje. The connection between the route through the village and this subsequent section is part of the described course of the Grajska cycling route.

Cuisine

The culinary offerings of Hruševje include Gostilna Hruševje. It serves Slovenian and Primorska cuisine, seafood specialities, pizzas and selected wines. The selection thus ranges from regionally rooted cuisine and seafood to pizza and a choice of wines.
