Brezovica becomes more tangible through clearly named trails and destinations. The “Klevevž” circular hiking trail runs through the village and is classified as moderately difficult. Its route and difficulty level give the trail two distinct characteristics: its name remains associated with Brezovica, while “moderately difficult” further defines the nature of the route. Thus, a hiking trail takes center stage right at the beginning, with its connection to the village and its classification clearly belonging together.

Hiking

A second hiking connection is named “Šmarjeta”. The circular route leads from Šmarješke Toplice towards the village of Brezovica, continues through the hamlet of Kamen Vrh and then heads towards Šmarjeta. It is 6 km long. This route description names the starting point, directions and intermediate location, as well as the length of the trail. The route can therefore be understood not only through its name, but also through the sequence of locations and its clearly stated length.

Together with “Klevevž”, “Šmarjeta” presents two differently described hiking routes: for the first circular hiking trail, the route through Brezovica is mentioned alongside its classification as moderately difficult, while the second focuses on several connections to specific locations and a length of 6 km. Both trails remain independent routes, each with its own name.

Cycling

For cycling, the route “Od mlinov do gradov” is named. It leads from the area of Terme Šmarješke Toplice to the village of Brezovica and is 30.5 km long. This adds a cycling route to the circular hiking trails, with a description that specifies a clear starting area, destination and exact distance. The 30.5 km represent a different scale of route than the 6 km of the “Šmarjeta” circular trail, without conflating the two types of route.

Culture

Pleterje Monastery is located in the surroundings of Brezovica. Alongside the named hiking and cycling connections, this adds an independent destination with a clear name and a geographical connection to the area around the village. The monastery’s name supplements the trail names with another fixed point of reference.

Nature

Mount Trdinov Vrh is located in the surroundings of Brezovica. By contrast, Mount Oklinak, the peak of Boršt and Mount Ravnina are located in the wider regional area around Brezovica. The names distinguish not only the landscape forms – mountain, peak and mountain – but also the geographical scope: Trdinov Vrh is assigned to the surroundings, while Oklinak, Boršt and Ravnina are assigned to the wider regional area.
