The area surrounding Trstená na Ostrove was formerly covered by swamps, lakes and, above all, reeds. Getting around

The International Danube Cycling Route passes through the cadastral area of Trstená na Ostrove. There, it follows the dam of the Gabčíkovo hydroelectric power plant.
