Culture and cycling routes give Malé Dvorníky a distinctive character. Between Kápolnadomb, sacred buildings, historical landmarks and rural routes, a place unfolds whose special features can be discovered in various stages.

Cycling Routes

The Dunajská Streda–Malé Dvorníky–Dunajský Klátov cycling route runs along a cycle path and a forest track. A second cycling route leads from Dunajská Streda via Malé Dvorníky, Veľké Dvorníky, Ohrady and Trhová Hradská to Topoľníky. Along this route, a cycle path, a forest track and an asphalt road alternate. Both routes connect Malé Dvorníky with several localities and differ in their respective road surfaces.

Kápolnadomb

The Kápolnadomb elevation is an earth rampart that still exists today and is considered a remnant of the ring. The elevation is home to the municipal cemetery, a church and a chapel. Malé Dvorníky is also located near the Klátov arm.

Culture and History

The Roman Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity on Kápolnadomb is listed as a local monument and is not entered in the Central Register of the Slovak Monument Fund. In 1955, it was rebuilt as a single-nave church with a semicircular presbytery. In the cemetery near the church is the Lourdes grotto, with polychrome statues of the Virgin Mary and Saint Bernadette.

The historic furnishings of the sacred buildings include the Chapel of the Holy Trinity. It was consecrated in 1735 in honour of the Holy Trinity by the then Bishop of Bratislava, Štefan Bakó. Of its original furnishings, only a Baroque painting of the Holy Trinity, which was part of the altar, has survived to this day. The cemetery’s main cross dates from 1730.

At the northern edge of Malé Dvorníky lies Kalvária on a small rise near the Trinity Chapel from the late 19th century. It consists of three crosses with the crucified figures on separate pedestals in the form of stone mounds. Before 1978, Kalvária was moved to the Malé Dvorníky branch, where it still stands today.

Secular buildings also add to the character of the village. The manor house on Malá ulica dates from the late 19th century and was restored in 2013. In the centre of Malé Dvorníky stands the statue of Christ the Victor, erected in 1877.

Village Life

A regular event in the annual calendar is the village festival: in Malé Dvorníky, it takes place every year on the first Sunday after Pentecost. An unusual rest area with a thatched roof is also located in the immediate vicinity of the municipal building.
