Poriadie has a distinctly dispersed settlement character, typical of the Kopaničiarske settlement pattern. The municipality lies on the low slopes of the Myjava Hills; part of Poriadie extends along the southwestern foothills of the White Carpathians below the Javorina Massif. Here, a distinctive settlement pattern meets a landscape in which trails, localities and historic memorial sites appear closely interconnected.
Landscape
The location below the Javorina Massif is one of the defining geographical features of Poriadie. The village is not situated solely in the hills, but part of its territory also reaches the southwestern foothills of the White Carpathians. These two landscape references form the setting for several marked trails and destinations in the surrounding area, without Poriadie losing its dispersed character.
Culture
The local events calendar includes Jarný slnovrat, a traditional pre-Easter event at the Poriadie Cultural Centre. The public goulash cooking competition has also been documented over several editions: in 2024 it was held as the 8th edition, in 2025 as the 9th edition and in 2026 as the 10th edition.
Historical traces can be found particularly in the Krivosudy locality in Poriadie. A partisan group was stationed there in October 1944. The partisan site includes the Zbojníčka spring and earth bunkers built there by the partisans. Other bunkers in Krivosudy are equipped with simple wooden bunks that served as beds and remain in preserved condition.
History
The U Klasovitých monument commemorates the last battle of the first campaign of the insurgent army of the Slovak Revolution in 1848. The U Klasovitých memorial complex was ceremonially unveiled in 1968. Access to the monument is via a stairway lined with a row of trees.
Another memorial site lies on the ridge of the White Carpathians: the Dibrovov Monument stands there. At the monument, the green-marked trail intersects with the long-distance Cesta hrdinov SNP trail. Thus, a local green-marked trail and a regional long-distance trail meet at this point.
Trails
The Poriadie–Rudník educational trail runs along existing paved roads and forest paths. It includes three stations with information boards and is 2.284 kilometres long. From Poriadie, there is also an easy trail of approximately 3 kilometres, marked in green, leading to the monument in Krivosudy. Its approximate length is explicitly only an estimate.
The green-marked hiking trail No. 5116 runs for 10.3 kilometres from Poriadie railway station via Zemlianky, the SNP Monument and Prídolie to the Dibrovov Monument on the Czech border. At the Dibrovov Monument, this green-marked trail intersects with the long-distance Cesta hrdinov SNP trail.
Railway
The railway line running through Poriadie was built and put into operation in 1930. Poriadie has a railway station bearing the name of the municipality. Poriadie railway station is also the starting point of green-marked hiking trail No. 5116, which leads via Zemlianky, the SNP Monument and Prídolie to the Dibrovov Monument on the Czech border.
Cycling
There is a smart bicycle shelter in the centre of Poriadie. It has a charger for six electric bicycles and includes a touchscreen information panel through which visitors can access interesting information. Thus, both the charger and the information panel are part of the local amenities at the centrally located bicycle shelter.
