Slatina nad Bebravou is located at the confluence of the Bebrava River and the Trebichavský Stream. The village centre is situated near the Vrchovište spring. There are also five bus stops in the village.

Nature

The Strážovské vrchy Natura 2000 site also includes the cadastral area of Slatina nad Bebravou and consists predominantly of forest and rock habitats. The area around Slatina nad Bebravou is hilly, rocky in places and composed of Mesozoic rocks. There are also several caves and springs in the area around Slatina nad Bebravou. At the edge of the village, two powerful springs emerge beneath the Hôrka limestone-dolomite rock.

Hiking

The Slatinský kras educational trail ends at a bus stop and car park in Slatina nad Bebravou, in the Bánovce nad Bebravou District. The trail is a moderately difficult, almost half-day hike through karst terrain without surface water or drinking water. History

Slatina nad Bebravou was first mentioned in written records in 1332; even then, there was already a church and a parish there. A cult site dating from the Middle La Tène period has also been documented in Slatina nad Bebravou. At the Middle La Tène cult site near Slatina nad Bebravou, ritually broken bones burned on a sacrificial boundary, as well as fragments of metal and glass objects and ceramic vessels, were found.

Culture

The Church of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary in Slatina nad Bebravou is a late Baroque church built between 1760 and 1770. The church contains a painting of Saint Elizabeth dating from 1794 by J. Zanussi. The Evangelical church in Slatina nad Bebravou was built in 1926; its floor plan partly incorporates an older church and a tower dating from 1899. Slatina nad Bebravou also retains traditional 19th-century houses with raised storage rooms above the chambers, accessible from the courtyard via wooden stairs.
