Culture and history

The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Šišov was completed in 1781. Its tower was added in 1821. Thus, two clearly distinguishable dates are documented for the construction of the church. The main altar also dates from the period when the church was built. It features column architecture with wooden angel figures and adds a distinctive furnishing detail to the building’s historic character.

The manor house of Šišov is a two-storey Neoclassical building on older foundations. The historic park lies east of the manor house of Šišov on both banks of the Livina stream. Entire avenues of coniferous trees were planted along the paths, especially spruce, fir and larch trees. The paths and rows of trees give the historic park a clearly structured layout.

The manor house of Šišov can be reached from the north via a local road and from the south via an access road through a chestnut avenue. The two described entrances therefore differ in their direction and in the route by which they approach the site.

The open meadow areas in the manor house park and in the park of Šišov are currently used for sports and physical education activities. A cycle route also passes through Šišov. In addition to the historic buildings and park features, the local landscape therefore includes a current use of the open areas and a cycle route.
