On a hill above Kšinná stands the Church of St. Cosmas and St. Damian. It combines a long architectural history with remarkable works of art: the church is dated to the period from 1230 to 1250, and the interior contains a layer of 14th-century wall paintings. The south façade also preserves a monumental depiction of Saint Christopher with the Christ Child. As a cultural monument, the church is listed in the Central Register of Monuments of the Slovak Republic.

Culture and History

The archaeological evidence also reaches far back into the past. Excavations in Kšinná attest to a Neolithic settlement. They also document an urn field of the Lusatian culture dating from the Late Bronze Age. Another historical aspect of the village is represented by the Evangelical church in Kšinná. It is a Neoclassical single-nave church built in 1814; inside is an 18th-century altarpiece depicting the Resurrection.

To view the interior of the Church of St. Damian, the municipal office in Kšinná must be contacted. Access to this special testimony to the village is therefore arranged through a specific point of contact.
