Holiday apartment in Pravotice – nature, culture and local experiences

Pravotice is a place whose character is reflected in its landscape, townscape, culture and regional everyday life. Waterways and mountains are just as central here as a historic church and recurring events.

Nature

The Pravotický stream flows through Pravotice. Near Livina, it flows into the Bebrava, which belongs to the Nitra river basin. The village’s cadastral area also has a clear connection to water: it borders Jerichov Reservoir.

Above Pravotice, near the church, a walnut avenue was planted in 2022. There is an acacia swing and a view of the surrounding Považský Inovec and Tríbeč mountain ranges. Access is from the road towards Rybany.

In the village

A children’s playground was built in Pravotice Park in 2016. In 2017, a multifunctional sports field and fitness equipment were added in the area of the football pitch.

The Prameň osvieženia fountain in the centre of Pravotice was renovated. Another striking detail in the townscape is a wood carving in front of the municipal office: it depicts an owl with its owlets.

The park also contains another wood carving depicting a water sprite. There are also 35 nesting boxes, made by residents during the educational cultural event Spoznávaj a chráň.

Culture

The Kostol Nepoškvrneného počatia Panny Márie church is an originally Baroque building from the 18th century. It was rebuilt in the 19th century and last structurally modified in 1902. The single-nave church has a slightly rounded chancel end, an attached sacristy and an integrated tower.

The church stands in an elevated position, is in good condition and continues to serve its purpose. Above the church there are a cemetery and a car park; from there, visitors can enjoy, among other things, a view of Topoľčany Castle.

Events and products

Šarkaniáda is one of the events held annually in Pravotice. Another regular date is the open day, which the PD Brezina Pravotice Agricultural Production Cooperative organises every year in September.

During this open day, visitors can sample and purchase meat products. They can also tour the premises of PD Brezina and view agricultural machinery and animals.

Pravotice also has a point of sale for meat products from PD Brezina.
