Liptovská Teplicka combines mountain landscapes, local history and village traditions to create a distinctive overall character.

Culture and local history

Sacred architecture includes the Roman Catholic Church of Kostol sv. Jána Krstiteľa. It was built in the Baroque style and consecrated in 1759. In Stodolište in Liptovská Teplička, there are 117 barns, which the municipality uses for exhibitions during local events.

A special building tradition is represented by the Zemiakové pivnice: these potato cellars are dug vertically into the ground and are approximately 2.5 to 3 metres deep. In Liptovská Teplička, 419 of these cellars have been preserved; they are still used to store potatoes.

The Teplická izba Museum presents an exhibition about the municipality’s traditional crafts, complemented by a photo exhibition. Visits to Teplická izba can be arranged at least 24 hours in advance by telephone or in person at the Liptovská Teplička municipal office.

The house of Mons. Štefan Náhalka also combines personal memories with regional everyday history. It includes a memorial room dedicated to the municipality’s distinguished son, as well as an exhibition about traditional rural living culture in Liptovská Teplička. Visits to the house can likewise be arranged at least 24 hours in advance by telephone or in person at the Liptovská Teplička municipal office.

The Cesty predkov Museum was established in 2023 after the renovation of the former fire brigade equipment building. It covers emigration to Ukraine and Hungary. The Pod Kráľovou hoľou folklore celebrations began in 1996 as a celebration marking the anniversary of the municipality’s first written mention.

According to the oldest residents’ accounts, the inhabitants of Liptovská Teplička erected the Americký kríž as a sign of gratitude after returning safely from America.

Landscape and trails

The terraced fields of Liptovská Teplička are historic landscape structures recognised as characteristic features of the landscape under the conditions of a mountain region.

The Okolím Liptovskej Tepličky nature trail follows a 6 km route with nine stations. Another route leads to Kráľova hoľa and starts and ends at the bus stop and car park in Liptovská Teplička. Thus, both the starting point and the endpoint for this tour are specified as being within the municipality. The references to the bus stop and car park describe the same local setting for the start and return. The route is considered a moderately difficult high-mountain tour with a comparatively long and strenuous ascent.

SKI PARK Liptovská Teplička has three lifts, including a school lift and a children’s lift. In addition to these two specified lifts, the facility has one further lift. The car park is located directly next to the lifts.
