Turčianske Teplice lies between the Malá Fatra and Veľká Fatra mountains in the Turčianska kotlina basin. According to Slovak Act No. 538/2005, the springs of Turčianske Teplice are classified as medicinal thermal mineral springs. The thermal water contains up to 1,524 mg/l. The town thus combines its geographical location with a clearly recognisable tradition centred on thermal water and spa facilities.

Wellness

The SPA & AQUAPARK contains the Folk pool and Red pool, which were built directly on mineral springs. The aquapark also includes the two slides “KAMIKAZE” and “ATTRACTION MOVIE”, which are open all year round. The “KAMIKAZE” slide is 47 m long, while “ATTRACTION MOVIE” reaches a length of 97 m. Both offer sound, light and visual effects. Thus, differently designed facilities stand side by side in the same water area: the pools built on mineral springs and the two long slides with their technical staging.

The outdoor area includes a 25 m long swimming pool with water jets and massage jets. In addition, the aquapark has an outdoor leisure pool with hydro-massage loungers, a wild water river and water jets. The modern spa facilities offer hydrotherapy using heat, pressure and gentle streams of water. No doctor's prescription is required for the Bahenný kúpeľ treatment.

Another water facility is the Termálne kúpalisko Vieska. It has a 50 m long swimming pool with a water temperature of 24 to 27 °C. The specific pool length and the stated temperature range complement the facilities described at the SPA & AQUAPARK with another thermal bath in the town.

Culture

The Galéria Mikuláša Galandu displays works by Mikuláš Galanda and organises exhibitions by Slovak and foreign artists. It is dedicated to the legacy of Mikuláš Galanda. The birthplace of the painter, graphic artist and illustrator Mikuláš Galanda was designated a cultural monument on 13 July 1979 under registration number 3237/1-2. The gallery and birthplace are thus connected through Galanda's name and artistic legacy.

The town describes Dni mesta as a traditional event. The Modrý kúpeľ in Turčianske Teplice is a cultural monument. In Diviaky, the Renaissance manor house Palatthyovský kaštieľ and its 0.8 ha park are registered under number 539/1-2. The places and events mentioned represent various forms of the cultural heritage: a gallery, a designated birthplace, a cultural monument, a traditional event, and a Renaissance manor house with a park.

Activities

The “Náučný chodník” educational trail can be completed in approximately 2.5 to 3 hours and is considered physically undemanding. It is accessible all year round and can also be used by bicycle. The approximate time range and the stated low physical difficulty provide the trail with a clearly described framework without restricting its use to a single mode of transport. The information about year-round accessibility and the additional option of cycling along the trail also specifies several temporal and practical parameters.

Orientation

The Turistické informačné centrum of the town of Turčianske Teplice primarily serves tourists and visitors to the town. The centre provides information about connections operated by the Slovak bus transport company and Železnice Slovenskej republiky. Its stated information area therefore covers both bus transport and Slovak railway connections.
