Holiday apartment in Zborov Nad Bystricou – nature trail, pilgrimage site and mountain views

Zborov nad Bystricou combines a signposted nature trail, religious culture and distinctive viewpoints. The Fojtov potok nature trail begins and ends in the village and is therefore designed as a circular route. Information boards accompany the route. Protected plant and animal species occur along the trail, closely combining the route with nature observation.

Another connection to the landscape is the Kysucká cycling route, which passes through Zborov nad Bystricou. Culture and history

The village landscape is dominated by the Parish Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary. It was consecrated on 8 December 1973. A church in Zborov nad Bystricou is decorated with valuable stained-glass windows by Vincent Hložník. Its history includes the fact that it was able to replace a very small white church building. This had no longer been sufficient for the large parish for several decades.

The church’s history therefore encompasses both a specific consecration date and its artistic furnishings and the structural development of the parish. The name of the church, the stained-glass windows and the former white church building each represent a distinct part of the village’s history.

Pilgrimage site

In the Kysucké Mountains, the cross and the Chapel of the Virgin Mary form a pilgrimage site. This religious site includes fourteen stations. They are arranged in two rows on a slope. Together with the cross and chapel, the arrangement of the stations shapes the appearance of the pilgrimage site.

From the tower, views extend over parts of the Bystrica Valley and the valley of Krásno nad Kysucou. The Kysuce Mountains and the Malá Fatra are also part of the stated viewing area.

Several landscape areas thus meet at the lookout tower: the two valleys, the Kysuce Mountains and the Malá Fatra. The geographical references remain separately named and are not combined into a single landscape designation. Together with Hladký Hill and the green-marked hiking trail, this creates a clearly defined viewpoint with a specified starting point.
