Discover Padarovce: Holiday Apartment, Church and Winemaking History

Padarovce reveals its history through the Evangelical church and the municipal coat of arms. The church was built between 1799 and 1803 in the style of the Toleration churches, without a tower. The tower of the Evangelical church was later added to the original volute façade of the church front and modified in 1923; the church tower was built in 1923, is 31 metres high and houses three bells. Inside, the Evangelical church has a Classicist altar in portal form with four columns and a triangular pediment. The altar includes a painting of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, added later and dating from the mid-19th century. The furnishings also include a Classicist stone baptismal font from the beginning of the 19th century. Its bowl is chalice-shaped and decorated with a petal motif.

The municipal coat of arms complements these historical and local references with a clear visual language: On a red field, it shows a golden barrel beneath a golden bunch of grapes. A silver grafting knife is depicted on the right, and a silver scion on the left. The individual symbols visibly refer to the motifs brought together in the coat of arms of Padarovce.

Landscape

Padarovce is located in the southeastern part of the Slovak Ore Mountains. The village’s former agricultural practices are also part of its history: In the past, fruit growing and viticulture were carried out extensively in Padarovce.

On the Way

Two routes are associated with Padarovce for route planning. The Teplý Vrch–Padarovce–Nižná Pokoradz route passes through Padarovce. A second route leads from Teplý Vrch via Padarovce, Dražice and Veľký Blh to the Danielia zvernica. It runs along lightly trafficked roads and is considered an easy route. Thus, two differently named route sections are available: One refers to Padarovce as the section between Teplý Vrch and Nižná Pokoradz, while the other places the village in a longer sequence via Dražice, Veľký Blh and the Danielia zvernica.
