Husiná combines a clearly defined landscape setting with remarkable traces of its history. The village lies in the valley of a left-bank tributary of the Suchá. At the same time, written references to Husiná, the church and the parish date back to 1332. Landscape and Trails

The landscape around Husiná inspired the later works of an artist mentioned in connection with the village. Its geographical setting is the valley of a left-bank tributary of the Suchá, where the village is located. The Husiná–Konrádovce hiking trail provides another link to the surrounding area. It leads from Husiná via Nad Čentou and Vadkert to Konrádovce. After 3.5 km, the trail crosses Cesta Márie Széchy. The hiking trail is managed by the KST under route number 8490. This clearly establishes the starting point, named intermediate points, route, crossing and responsible route number.

Culture and History

The oldest known seal record from Husiná dates back to 1758. The seal depicts a ploughshare shown vertically with its point facing downwards. The coat of arms also has a precisely documented visual design: on a silver shield lies a silver goose with a golden beak and golden feet on a black plough. The Neoclassical manor house in Husiná dates from the early 19th century. Together with the first mention of the village, church and parish in 1332, these features connect different periods in the village’s history.

One of the notable buildings is the Kostol Navštívenia Panny Márie church in Husiná. It was built in 1787 in the Neoclassical style, extended in 1922 and restored after 1890. The church is located on the northeastern edge of Husiná, almost outside the municipality, on a slight elevation. Its location and the repeatedly documented construction phases are just as much a part of its history as the church’s exact name.

A historical object from Husiná can also be seen outside the village: a Late Romanesque sword from Husiná is exhibited in the Gemerské múzeum in Rimavská Sobota, in the cold-weapons department. The village’s connection with its history thus extends from the earliest references through seals and coats of arms to a specific museum object.
