Budikovany lies in the southeastern part of the Slovak Ore Mountains and combines a distinctive landscape with water, historical traces and various routes through the surrounding area. Teplý Vrch Reservoir lies on the Blh River between Teplý Vrch, Budikovany and Drienčany. In Budikovany, the landscape of the Ore Mountains therefore meets the geographical connections between river, stream and reservoir.

Landscape

The northern part of the Budikovany area is covered with oak forest. In the south, the Blh creates a connection to the water: the stream flows into Teplý Vrch Reservoir in the southern part of the Budikovany area. Historically, the inhabitants of Budikovany cultivated fruit. Household crafts formerly practised in Budikovany included Voštinárstvo and Brdárstvo.

Budikovany is home to an Evangelical church built in 1804. Inside is a Neoclassical altar dating from the mid-19th century. The history of the village is also associated with Juraj Palkovič, who worked in Budikovany as a writer and lexicographer in 1790 and 1791. Thus, one place brings together a sacred building from the early 19th century, a Neoclassical furnishing element from the middle of the following century, and the literary and lexicographical work of Juraj Palkovič.
