Vălişoara – Paths, Churches and Chioar Household

In Vălișoara, there is a traditional Chioar household comprising a dwelling house, barn, stable and bread oven. A route leads from Vărai via Valea Caselor and Vălișoara, via Prisnelu Vălișoarei and Prisnelu Văraiului, back to Vărai. Paths Through the Terrain

The route via Vărai, Prisnelu Vălișoarei and Prisnelu Văraiului can be reached from Letca in Sălaj County via the Someș Valley to Vălișoara. Its course therefore begins outside the village and leads through the valley into the landscape around Vălișoara. The sequence from Vărai via Valea Caselor and Vălișoara to the two Prisnelu points also describes the order of the waypoints.

A shepherd's path leads east from Prisnelu Vălișoarei across the plateau and along a narrow, forested ridge to the saddle before Prisnelu Văraiului. Along this section, the plateau, forested ridge and saddle follow one another in the stated direction. An old cart track also leads from Vălișoara through forest and a plum plantation to a pasture southwest of Prisnelu Vălișoarei. The directions east for the shepherd's path and southwest for the cart track supplement the respective route descriptions. The ascent from the area of the former vicarage in Vălișoara to Prisnelu Vălișoarei and back takes no more than two hours.
