Forest paths and gorges

Culture and history

In the municipality of Crasna, the wooden church „Izvorul Tămăduirii“ is located directly next to Schitul Crasna. In the centre of Aninișu din Vale stands the wooden church „Cuvioasa Paraschiva“. It is located approximately 37 metres east of the county road DJ665.

The wooden church „Adormirea Maicii Domnului“ is located in the southeastern part of the village of Crasna. It stands near the Blahnița River. When travelling from Blahnița de Sus, it is on the right-hand side of county road DJ661. The church „Sf. Ioan Botezătorul“ is also located in Aninișu din Deal.

Ethnoculturally, the municipality of Crasna lies at the intersection between the ethnographic area of Oltenia de sub Munte in Gorj and the ethnographic area of Mărginimea Sibiului. The Icoana Monastery is located in the village of Cărpiniș and is one of the municipality's historic monuments.

Schitul Crasna is located in Crasna Ungureni and dates back to 1636. The monastery cells date from the 17th century and were rebuilt in 1808. The Biserica Sfântul Nicolae in Crasna bears the year 1636 and features a fresco from 1757.
