At the entrance to Berca stands the Mănăstirea-cetate Berca on a hill. The mud volcano area Vulcanii Noroioși de la Pâclele Mari is located in the Comuna Berca. The Comuna Berca is one of two main entrances to the UNESCO Geopark Ținutul Buzăului.
These place descriptions already reveal the connection between different designations: Berca appears as a place, as a Comuna, and as a reference point for a mud volcano area. The Mănăstirea-cetate Berca stands on a hill at the entrance to the place, while Vulcanii Noroioși de la Pâclele Mari is located within the Comuna. The UNESCO Geopark Ținutul Buzăului is also connected with the Comuna, which is designated as one of two main entrances.
Nature
The Fierbătorile de la Berca, also referred to as “La Fierbători”, are an area with mud volcanoes on the northern edge of Berca in Buzău County. The two named mud volcano areas, Vulcanii Noroioși de la Pâclele Mari and the Fierbătorile de la Berca, are connected with the Comuna and the northern edge of the place, respectively.
The names distinguish between the two areas: Vulcanii Noroioși de la Pâclele Mari is located in the Comuna Berca, while the Fierbătorile de la Berca, or “La Fierbători”, is located on the northern edge of Berca. The second designation also preserves the alternative name of the mud volcano area there. As an additional geographical classification, Buzău County is explicitly connected with the Fierbătorile de la Berca.
Transport
The CFR rail network includes the Buzău–Berca, Berca–Măgura, and Măgura–Nehoiașu railway lines. The Buzău–Berca line already includes Berca in its name. The Berca–Măgura and Măgura–Nehoiașu railway lines are also part of the CFR rail network.
Thus, three line designations with different place names are connected within the rail network: Buzău–Berca, Berca–Măgura, and Măgura–Nehoiașu. Berca appears in second place in one of the line designations and in first place in another; Măgura appears in the two subsequent names. All three references relate to the CFR rail network.
