Fleckeby is located between the Schlei and the Hüttener Berge hills. The surrounding protected landscape areas offer opportunities for hiking, cycling, swimming and sailing. Fleckeby provides access to the Schlei for sailing and motorboating, as well as mooring facilities; a regional historical leaflet also documents a local sailing harbour with 60 berths.
History and Culture
The area surrounding Fleckeby is home to the Runestone, Gottorf Castle, the State Museum, Haithabu and the Edelsturm Ruins.
A historical walking tour in Fleckeby leads from the Hardesvogtei to the Schlei and back through the town centre. The Hardesvogtei houses an exhibition on the history of the former Harden districts in the Duchy of Schleswig.
