St. Lawrence Church in Krostitz was built as a fortified church between 1206 and 1208 and is characterized by its twin towers; later renovations added Gothic and Baroque elements. Ur-Krostitzer uses hops from Germany's Hallertau region and barley malt from regional cultivation. The brewery cultivates its bottom-fermenting brewing yeast in Krostitz. The brewing water comes from its own wells; in Krostitz, it is drawn from three private wells at depths of up to 80 meters. Ur-Krostitzer is also described as having its own finely bitter barley beer.

The Obstland Route extends for approximately 67 kilometers through North Saxony and the surrounding Saxon fruit-growing region.
