Nature

Eppendorf is located on the northern edge of the Ore Mountains. The region has a well-developed network of cycling and horse-riding trails. The Anton Günther Stone is a destination in the Gersberg Forest near Eppendorf. Culture

Eppendorf preserves traces of a former hunting lodge commissioned by Elector Augustus around 1560: the Fürstenkeller and the former Fürstengarten are still located near the old grammar school. Eppendorf Church is one of the largest village churches in Saxony. It was consecrated in 1865, has a 47-metre-high tower and a Göthel organ from the same year; guided tours can be arranged.

The workshop of Björn Köhler, who is associated with Köhler handicrafts in Eppendorf and is described as a trained master woodturner, produces its figures mainly by hand – from the initial design through to the final finishing.

Leisure

Eppendorf outdoor swimming pool has a 50-metre swimming pool with separate areas for swimmers and non-swimmers. The pool complex also includes a water slide, a separate paddling pool, a large sunbathing lawn and an adjoining leisure area. Parking spaces are available directly at Eppendorf outdoor swimming pool; a kiosk offers drinks and snacks.

Federal highways 101, 173, 174 and 180 can be reached from Eppendorf within a maximum distance of 10 kilometres. Direct bus connections from Eppendorf serve, among others, Zschopau, Augustusburg, Flöha, Chemnitz, Oederan and Brand-Erbisdorf.
