Gersdorf: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture

The Marienkirche in Gersdorf was built between 1862 and 1865 and contains a valuable Jehmlich organ. The history of the Hessenmühle also goes back a long way: the complex is said to have originated around 1450 as a sheep farm and watermill. The Tetzner Museum is located in the former mill wing of the Hessenmühle. Using oil paintings, watercolours and graphic works, it presents a cross-section of Heinz Tetzner’s oeuvre. The museum is dedicated to the life and work of the Gersdorf painter and graphic artist Heinz Tetzner, an Expressionist artist.

Hiking

The 18-kilometre Steinkohlenweg is a signposted regional circular hiking trail through Oelsnitz/Erzgebirge, Hohndorf, Gersdorf and Lugau. The Gersdorf mining educational trail includes a viewpoint with a wide view towards Oelsnitz.

Food and Drink

The Glückauf Brewery shop offers the brewery’s complete range, supplemented by beer-related gifts, bock beer truffles and pralines featuring beer brands. The Glückauf Brewery’s Braustübchen is located in the converted old brewhouse, preserves its original interior design and offers seating in an old brewing kettle.

Getting There

Gersdorf has no rail connection, but is regularly served by buses from Hohenstein-Ernstthal. The A4 and A72 motorways are connected to Gersdorf via the B180, approximately seven kilometres away.
