Culture
The historic market square is the centre of Glauchau’s historic town centre, which is characterised by cultural and historical sights and architecturally valuable buildings. Weekly markets, fresh produce markets, the annual Christmas market and the town festival take place in the market square.
St. Georgen Town Church is home to a preserved organ by Gottfried Silbermann, completed in 1730. Guided tours of the church, organ and tower at St. Georgen Town Church can be booked through the parish office. The Bismarck Tower serves both as a lookout tower and as a water tower.

Nature
The palace park is described as Glauchau’s oldest park and dates back to the 18th century. Paths through the palace park lead past old trees and offer views of Forderglauchau Palace and Hinterglauchau Palace. Covering approximately 9.8 hectares, Gründelpark is a natural continuation of the palace park and is used by walkers and cyclists as a recreational area.
Glauchau Reservoir covers 40 hectares and is known for its species-rich fauna. Sailing, canoeing, fishing, tennis, archery, jogging, walking and cycling are available around the lake. A 3.2-kilometre circular path runs through the natural landscape around Glauchau Reservoir.
The approximately 750-hectare Rümpfwald forest lies between Glauchau and Lichtenstein; it is the second-largest contiguous forest area in the Ore Mountain Basin. Between Glauchau and Lichtenstein, Rümpfwald has numerous forest paths and is a popular local recreation and hiking area.
