Oberhaid: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Oberhaid is one of the municipalities in the Kannenbäckerland region. The RB8 begins and ends on the main street in Oberhaid. As a circular hiking trail through the Kannenbäckerland, it starts in Oberhaid and is described as being approximately 10 km long; at the Kleiner Saynbach, it leads towards Mausmühle. Nature and Trails

The Kannenbäckerland has an extensive network of forests, concentrated on summits, ridges and dry slopes. At the same time, it is a relatively flat plateau with gently rolling ridges and deeply incised valleys through which natural streams flow.

The Westerwald also has a 235 km long long-distance hiking trail with 16 stages, certified as a “Wanderbares Deutschland” quality trail.

Culture

From 1376 to 1560, Oberhaid was the seat of a special Haiderbach court. From 1450 onwards, the Lords of Isenburg held an estate in Oberhaid. An oil mill was built in Oberhaid in 1700 and later became known as Fuchsmühle. Two old mills are located within Oberhaid’s territory: Fuchsmühle and Mausmühle. The Kannenbäckerland is one of the 17 historically significant cultural landscapes of nationwide importance in Rhineland-Palatinate.

The 48 km Kannenbäckerland Tour includes a stop at Brunnenplatz in Oberhaid.
