Eitelborn: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Eitelborn’s Sporkenburg Castle was built above the Emsbach Valley in 1310 by Heinrich von Helfenstein. Eitelborn’s barbecue hut can accommodate 40 people indoors and 150 people outdoors. Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Eitelborn can then continue searching for accommodation.

Nature

In the Emsbach Valley landscape, the box valley is deeply incised and reaches a depth of up to 250 metres compared with the surrounding elevations. The valley floor of the box valley is used predominantly as grassland.

In the wider Emsbach Valley landscape, the slopes around Kadenbach and Arzbach feature meadows, pastures, areas of partly dry grassland and orchards. The remaining areas are wooded, with deciduous trees slightly predominating.

Hiking

The moderately difficult Wäller Tour Augst is a 14.1-kilometre hiking route with 381 metres of ascent and 382 metres of descent. Its route reaches the outskirts of Eitelborn, alternates between open terrain with paddocks and mixed woodland, and continues to the accessible ruins of Sporkenburg Castle.

The regional Wäller Tour Augst offers views of Eitelborn and Kadenbach and follows meadow paths, floodplain trails in the Binnbach Valley, through woodland and across mixed open landscapes.

The signposted castle trail to Sporkenburg Castle begins on the eastern outskirts of Eitelborn near Erlenweg and the cemetery.
