The coat of arms of Welcherath is based on an old court seal from 1691 and depicts the martyr couple Chrysanthus and Daria, who are regarded as the patron saints of the village. The Catholic parish church of St. Chrysanthus and Daria is a protected cultural monument and a rural Baroque church. Features of interest to visitors include a Pietà , wall and ceiling paintings dating from around 1920, and a group of figures depicting the Crucifixion made of basalt lava from 1694. The church was restored in 2010 and 2011.
The historic markers in the village also include a basalt shaft cross at Hauptstraße 8 dating from 1732 and a basalt beam cross at the eastern edge of the village dating from 1658. The inauguration of the Valwigerberg pilgrimage stone included a church service and a procession. The parishes associated with Welcherath commemorated a centuries-old pilgrimage to Valwigerberg by erecting a pilgrimage stone.

The Raustert quarry near Welcherath is listed as Station 16 on the German Volcano Route. The 280-kilometre-long German Volcano Route connects 39 accessible geological, cultural-historical, and industrial-historical attractions associated with volcanism in the Eifel.
