Neichen lies along the first stage of the Lieser Trail: the 15.2 km hike from the Lieser spring near Boxberg to Daun passes through the village, is classified as easy to very easy, and offers a break at one of Neichen’s springs. A prominent stopping point along the trail is the Neichener Drees. From the Gerolstein exit of the A1, it can be reached by driving in the direction of Neichen; it is located at the western end of the village and along the Lieser Trail. The Neichener Drees, also known as Schulldrees, is a publicly accessible mineral and carbonated spring on the western outskirts of Neichen. Seating allows for a short rest, and there are also scenic views. The water has been identified as a calcium-magnesium-hydrogen carbonate carbonated spring.
