The Old Castle in Klüsserath is a former moated castle that was first mentioned in official records in 1338. The Klüsserather Bruderschaft wine-growing area covers approximately 90 hectares and is located on one of the largest contiguous south-facing slopes along the Moselle. The slope gradients reach up to 83 percent. The area includes 22 kilometers of paths and 18 kilometers of water channels; Riesling is the most important grape variety.

Nature
The Klüsserath Legends Trail is an approximately 12-kilometer premium hiking trail above the village. It leads through vineyards, wooded sections, and along high-level paths offering panoramic views over the Moselle Valley. Several stations along the trail present regional legends and stories.
Walking paths run along the river in the Salm area. There are opportunities to observe native bird and animal species there.
The Römersteig begins at an ancient menhir between Trittenheim and Klüsserath and leads down through vineyards towards Trittenheim and the Moselle bridge. A historic menhir stands on the heights between Klüsserath and Trittenheim.
Getting Around
The Moselle Cycle Route runs directly through Klüsserath. The Salm Cycle Route is approximately 16 kilometers long and connects the Maare-Moselle Cycle Route with the Moselle Cycle Route via the Salm Valley. It reaches Klüsserath through meadows and historic villages before continuing on the Moselle Cycle Route towards Trier. Its official endpoint is at the Klüsserath church.
The Moselle Camino is a continuously marked, 160-kilometer section of the Way of St. James between Koblenz and St. Matthias in Trier. The Klüsserath–Ensch–Schweich stage begins in Klüsserath. Pilgrims can obtain the Moselle Camino stamp at the Tourist Information office or in the church.
Fishing permits for the section of the Salm from the Salm Bridge to its mouth are available at the Klüsserath Tourist Information office and at the Klüsserath motorhome parking area.
