The central Igeler Säule is the focal point of Igel: a Roman tomb monument made of red sandstone from the 3rd century. It is described as the best-preserved pillar tomb north of the Alps and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986.

The Grutenhäuschen is located approximately 1.5 km west of Igel. The reconstructed Roman temple was built in the vineyards above an originally preserved, vaulted Roman burial chamber. Above Igel, the old parish church stands on a rocky promontory. Its church building dates from 1265, while its current form dates from 1759.

The surrounding area of Igel is home to the Mariensäule Trier, Ramstein, Echternach Abbey, and the Benedictine Abbey of St. Matthias in Trier.

Cycling

The Moselle Cycle Route runs close to the Moselle and offers mostly flat cycling along the river. Paths on both banks and bridge crossings allow for tours of varying lengths.

Rosenberg and Auf der First are located near Igel. The surrounding area of Igel also includes Galgenberg and Mohrenkopf.
