The Wendelinus Chapel on Ney’s village square is a focal point of the community. Schönecker Mill and Hieren Mill are located in the Ehrbach Valley, whose gorge leads towards the Moselle. Ney was first mentioned in 1225 in the will of the knight Simon of Schönecken. A hike from Schönecker Mill leads to Schöneck Castle. Schöneck Castle is privately owned and can only be visited on the Day of the Open Monument on the second weekend in September.
Getting Around
The Hunsrück Railway runs from Emmelshausen to Boppard along a scenic steep section of track. Between Boppard and Emmelshausen, it can provide return transport to the Hunsrück heights if required. On weekdays, travellers reached Morshausen by bus route 628 from the direction of Emmelshausen.
