Culture and History
At Dorfstraße 16, there is a well shaft and a well house made of quarry slate. At Dorfstraße 22, there is a half-timbered house clad in slate with a mansard hipped roof dating from the first third of the 19th century; an agricultural wing forms a unified historic complex with it. Hollnich is documented in records from 1178. The Backes in the village center was revived as part of the local tradition.
Older features in Hollnich's Steingasse are being renovated in houses, agricultural areas, and a car workshop. Around 1360, Hollnich was briefly under Hessian rule.
