The “Natur+Kultur” hiking trail network comprises five interconnected themed circular routes in the northern part of the municipal area, covering around 23 kilometers in total. As a larger network, it offers several interconnected themed routes, while the two shorter trails each have their own distinct focus.
Kranichwoog: Trails, Information Boards and Birdlife
The “Kranichwoog” Natura 2000 Discovery Trail offers routes of different lengths; the longer loop is 5.3 kilometers long. Information boards along the trail and in the adventure tower provide information about Natura 2000, Kranichwoog, the moorland depression and the forest. QR codes on the information boards let you access audio recordings in a radio-play style with additional information. Smaller boards on the tower’s top viewing platform provide information about 24 bird species regularly found at Kranichwoog. The route, information boards and audio offer different ways to explore nature—not only through outdoor activity, but also through its many topics.
