The Islek Siegfried Line hiking trail is signposted through the local areas of Großkampenberg, Kesfeld and Leidenborn. Its western section interprets the Siegfried Line as a fortification system. Leidenborn’s Catholic branch church of St. Anthony is a three-bay hall church with a roof turret and dates from 1789. The building at Dorfstraße 20 has a three-bay residential section dating from 1751.

Region

The wider Bitburg region is characterized by sunny plateaus, deeply incised river valleys and light-filled forests. Near Fließem, Roman traces can be found at the Otrang Roman Villa. Malberg Castle is described in the wider Bitburg region as a preserved castle complex that attracts visitors interested in culture. The wider Bitburg region is also associated with hiking on the signposted trails of NaturWanderPark delux. It is likewise associated with cycle paths along the river valleys. Small distilleries in the wider Bitburg region offer an opportunity to learn about the distillation of schnapps.

Nature

Panel West 2 presents the Siegfried Line as an important biotope in the agricultural landscape. In the nearby area, the remains of Siegfried Line bunkers provide a habitat for wildcats. Along the Siegfried Line, bunker remains at a single location can host up to 72 species of moss.
