Local history museum, church and windmill
The listed “Greven Worth” local history museum brings together several examples of historic architecture and craftsmanship. The ensemble includes a thatched two-post house dating from 1701 and historic outbuildings. An exhibition of tools and materials from traditional trades adds to the buildings. The museum therefore highlights both historic architecture and the working lives of craftspeople in earlier times.
Another historic landmark in the town is St. Lamberti Church, which dates from 1725. The “Elisabeth” gallery windmill stands on the edge of town. It was rebuilt in 1983 after the Selsingen Mill Preservation Association campaigned for its restoration and reconstruction. The three sites offer different points of interest: the local history museum brings together buildings and a crafts exhibition, the church provides its own historical perspective, and the mill’s history is linked to the efforts of the local association.
The outdoor pool and windmill as additional places to visit
The outdoor swimming pool is outside Selsingen, on the road towards Sandbostel. Its pool measures 25 × 25 metres and includes a non-swimmer area.
