During the National Socialist era, the MUNA site in Lübberstedt was an external camp of the Neuengamme concentration camp.
Since 2012, guided tours have been offered along the approximately five-kilometre-long “Memorial Trail,” covering the former munitions facility and the forced labourers. The association organises guided tours of the otherwise closed MUNA site every month.
There were 109 bunkers in the western part of MUNA Lübberstedt; some of them were blown up at the end of the war. Twelve people are buried in the Lübberstedt cemetery, and a memorial stone commemorates their fate.
“Der griese Graue” is a fully operational Dutch smock windmill with a drive-through passage on the Osterholzer Geest. “Die Griesen Grauen” is a Dutch smock windmill with a covered passage through which grain and flour are moved between wagons and the mill machinery.
“Die Griesen Grauen” offers guided tours for interested visitors and holds milling demonstrations.
There are bicycle racks and car parking spaces at Lübberstedt railway station.
The “Lübbster Möhl” route mainly uses forest and farm tracks as well as lightly trafficked side roads. Due to its relatively short distance, it is described as family-friendly.
The area around Hambergen is suitable for exploring by bicycle along canal embankments lined with birch trees and past old farms.
