Grasberg has a 23.3-kilometer cycling tour called “In Findorff’s Footsteps.” Anyone traveling to Grasberg may want to rent a vacation apartment.

Cycling

The “From the Teufelsmoor to the Wadden Sea” cycling route connects the lowlands of the Teufelsmoor with the coastal landscape and the Wadden Sea. In places, it follows the Hamme, Oste, Elbe, and Weser rivers. The route is mostly flat and easy to ride and extends for around 450 kilometers.

Guided tours are offered in and around Grasberg, through the Teufelsmoor, and in the nearby artists’ villages of Worpswede and Fischerhude. The Worpswede and Teufelsmoor visitor region offers guided moorland hikes and cycling tours along drainage ditches and moor canals. Peat-barge, canoe, and kayak trips on the Hamme provide a water-based way to experience the Teufelsmoor landscape.

Culture

The Findorffhof is an old farm complex that was typical of the region’s moor villages in the 19th century. It includes a farmhouse, a barn, a bakehouse, a wattle barn, a wagon shed, a bleaching house, a fire station, and a peat-boat shelter. The main house is furnished as a museum and serves as a cultural meeting place. Old agricultural tools and machinery are displayed in the barn. In the old half-timbered farm buildings, the complex also gives visitors the opportunity to experience the lives and work of the moorland farmers.

The Village Garden shows a scaled outline of Grasberg with a mosaic coat of arms of the municipality, as well as wooden information boards about the individual villages. It can be visited from Easter through October and is dismantled in winter.

The Grasberg Findorff Church houses an organ that Arp Schnitger originally built in 1693/94 for the orphanage church in Hamburg. During the annual Grasberg Autumn Ateliers, participating artists have opened their studios to visitors once a year since 2012.

Culinary Experiences

The weekly market in Grasberg offers fruit and vegetables, cheese specialties, honey, and baked goods.

Grasberg also has a free motorhome parking area for eight vehicles next to a park-and-ride car park in the town center. Supermarkets and restaurants are located immediately adjacent to it. The motorhome parking area can be used year-round. Regional bus route 630 runs from Grasberg to Bremen.
