The palace ensemble of Fürstenberg is a listed monument of Weser Renaissance architecture. Fürstenberg Palace was built in the 13th century as a fortress to protect the Welf territories and was completely converted into a hunting lodge around 1600. Since 1974, the restored palace has served as a museum of the porcelain manufactory.
The Fürstenberg Porcelain Manufactory is described as dating back to 1747. The Fürstenberg Palace Museum is the only porcelain museum in northern Germany. It traces the development of dining culture from the luxury of the 18th century to contemporary mix-and-match porcelain. The FÜRSTENBERG Porcelain Manufactory is also described as one of the historic sites in the Weser Uplands.
A viewing platform 80 metres above the Weser offers panoramic views over the Weser Valley and the tripoint. The route to Fürstenberg Palace via Kathagenberg takes about 15 minutes. The Raabe hiking trail ends in the palace courtyard.
A lockable charging station is available for e-bike batteries. The museum provides a bicycle repair kit. The palace ensemble also includes the manufactory's factory outlet.
