In Untertheres, the church was built on the site of an older church during the tenure of Abbot Gregor Fuchs (1715–1755). By contrast, the “Hutzeldorf” European Cultural Route in Fatschenbrunn is a roughly 6-kilometre circular route with information panels and leaflets about the village and its cultural landscape.

The Haßberge Nature Park’s adventure tours also make planning your day straightforward: they are designed as half-day or full-day tours and follow circular routes back to the starting point. Another destination is the Schwedenschanze, a circular rampart dating from the Hallstatt period. Its observation tower crowns a 487-metre-high summit on the Haßberg ridge. From there, views extend over mixed forest to the Grabfeld, and northwest to the heights of the Rhön and north towards Thuringia.

Culture and regional specialities in the Haßberge
