Culture

The late Baroque palace complex in Burgpreppach was begun in 1717 on the site of a moated castle dating from around 1525. Its three-winged design is described as one of the significant examples of Baroque palace architecture in Lower Franconia.

The historic palace mill is said to date from the 15th century. After its destruction in the Thirty Years’ War, it was rebuilt in 1633; later, it housed a direct-current power plant that supplied the village with electric light.
