Here, art and route come together: the steles give the hike a thematic focus, while the route also leads to the sunny terraces above the Ammerbach and down to the sports grounds.
Another hiking idea is “Through Quiet Forests”: this 11.5-kilometre route is an easy half-day hike, notable for its peaceful atmosphere and suitable even on hot summer days. The options therefore differ in character: this route focuses on a longer hike through quiet forests, while the Lord’s Prayer Path combines walking with art. Culture and local events
Ammerthal’s Kirwa festival is celebrated in July. A stay in July can be combined with the Ammerthal Kirwa.
The dirt-bike track is also part of the area’s more recent history: it was officially opened on 11 August 2025 and was then the final part of the project to revitalise and develop the Purschläger Valley.
