Dommartin: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Culture

In the centre of Dommartin is the Prost bread oven, which is municipally owned. Since the first festival on 10 March 2018, an annual bread festival has been held there. This was preceded by a successful one-week commissioning of the oven, which was completed on 4 November 2017.

The Prost bread oven is also accompanied by a fountain and a livestock trough. Both were part of the basic facilities serving the PROST farm.

Nature

More than 70 % of the Dommartin municipal area lies in zones characterised by agriculture or nature.

Anyone planning to visit Dommartin and the Prost bread oven as a travel destination will want to rent a holiday apartment.

Walks

The circular route “Le Tour des Étangs” is 8 km long, has 90 m of positive elevation gain and is listed as taking 120 minutes. It is marked with PDIPR wooden posts and yellow direction signs and passes through the Maligny leisure area, which serves as a place to stop during the walk.

“A Walk Towards the East... of Dommartin” is an interpretive heritage trail covering 6.2 km and taking around 2.5 hours. The route includes the Chicotière lime kiln. The trail can be followed independently using a map on the ARAPED website.

“Dommartin Heritage” is a guided heritage tour through the historic centre of Dommartin, covering 3.5 km and lasting around three hours.

History

Around 1200, Ainay Abbey took over the local obedience; the village of Dommartin probably originated at that time.
